Blues Kingfisher was raised by Hyde
Merritt of Laramie, Wyoming and sold to David Able of Custer, Montana as a weanling. In 1993, Charley Mahler bought Blues Kingfisher and took him home to Allen, Nebraska. Charley has
retained a number of daughters and sons of Blues Kingfisher and, like other Blue Valentine horses, he has found them to be quiet and willing to learn. Blues Kingfisher is the sire of our stallion
Blues Plenty Man. When we started looking for a herd sire in 2003, we decided on a son of Blues Kingfisher because of his Blue Valentine and Leo breeding.
While it is true that sons of Blues Kingfisher don't all look alike, we are happy to find that they do all seem to have his good mind and calm disposition.
